As a Sydney wedding photographer I need to find outlets to get creative outside of weddings to keep my mind photographically active so I don’t get stail. So with the help of my beautiful wife Monica we decided to do a creative boudoir modelling shoot.
These shots were taken at home in our Sydney apartment with 3 basic elements a continuous daylight balanced light source, black backdrop and a massive translucent diffuser to soften the light, just a sheet of fine material that we got from Spotlight. With these basic tools we were able to create some really elegant images that emphasise the female form.
The key is to have the light coming from the right direction with your model facing the right way as to highlight the right features and soften unflattering body parts or features that you don’t want to highlight. It may just look like a beautiful girl who knows how to stand in front of a camera but no if she stood dead straight and nothing was bent or curved as the female body is there would be no delicate lines or shape. The light would also be flat if I didn’t angle her body away from the light as to create highlight and shadow detail. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the images.
