Josh and Laura wed in Sydney in early April in and around Sydney’s cbd district. First I started with Josh and the boys at Mosman where the guys were ready to roll once I arrived. They suited up and then we took some photos with his groomsmen and parents in and around the house and on the leafy Mosman streets.
I was then off to Laura and the girls in the beautiful Sutherland Shire for the bridal prep. Laura was lucky enough to have a family member do her hair and makeup on the day which helped calm the pre wedding nerves having loved ones around. Once the girls were dressed and ready we took some gorgeous shots in and around the house before we heading into the city to St James Church on King Street Sydney.
Once in the church the boys arrived spot on time and Laura shortly after. The service was beautiful and went off without any issues at all. After the service at St James we walked over to Hyde Park for some family photos and to start the formal photos. This top image was one of the first shots we took and it has grown to become one of my favorites of the day. The way the sun is shining through the trees, the colour richness and of course our stunning bride and groom embracing in the first hour of being newly weds.
From here we jumped in the cars and headed to The Rocks and Observatory Hill just under the Harbour Bridge to continue on. The bridal party cracked a bottle of Moet and we started walking down through the rocks district and down towards the Harbour foreshore. As a Sydney wedding Photographer what I love about the rocks area is just all the history that comes along with it and all the amazing building that you find along the way. I love the old sandstone buildings, pebble stone walkways and old heritage buildings in and around the harbour.
We then left for the Queen Victoria Building in the heart of the city for Josh and Laura’s reception. Firstly he had the top floor of the QVB to ourselves so we walked around and took some beautiful images in and around the stain glass windows, walkways, archways and just took in the beauty of the building.
The Tea Rooms looked absolutely amazing. Grandiose it looked like it was from the 1950’s era where you could imagine people coming in for their high teas and to socialise.
The reception again went off without a hitch from the service, food and having a great atmosphere surrounded by family and friends both Laura and Josh were exceptionally happy with the day.
