1. What are the main differences between an average and amazing wedding video production that might help us choose the right videographer for our wedding?
The Main difference would be the way the wedding was captured, the natural candid moments, the tears of joy from the father of the bride and the groom while the bride walks down the aisle, all captured naturally without any need for direction. To me that is the most important, the couple need to enjoy their day and not worry about the cinematographer being in their faces all day, but to subtly capture all the right moments and tell the story how it unfolds.
2.Are there different styles of wedding videography that I need to consider?
There are different styles that one could shoot in and edit the video in, it would depend on personal preference, as a cinematographer and editor I have to learn to adapt to the style of the couple and see their personality and only then would I be able to assess the type of style needed to shoot in and to deliver the final video.
3. What should we do on our wedding day if anything to help make a beautiful wedding video?
Point out the key people to be captured, i.e. grandparents, special friends that have travelled, all family members and any surprises that the couple might do, e.g. special dance, or someone performing. Other than that, the most important this is to enjoy the day and take it all in.
4: What should we ask our videographer to make sure we get the wedding video that we envisioned for our wedding?
Make sure you have showed your videographer examples of the style you have in mind, supply the music that you might want the video in and trust the creativity of the videographer.
