Recently the Southern Highlands Winery put in a massive new marquee to hold larger weddings and functions. They asked me to come out along with some great local wedding stylists and take some great new and updated promo shots. The girls styled the room 3 different settings to highlight the different looks and feel these different looks can make to a reception. The first was a very rustic raw look with the brown chairs and styling the second was with white chairs a slightly more classic setting and finally it was still rustic but with a classic modern twist. The tables had white table clothes and white chairs the room was light up with coloured lights and this really changed the whole vibe in the room.
We also photographed and styled the outdoor courtyard, ceremony area by the lake, sitting area outside the marquee doors and the Barrel room to show all the areas that can be used during a wedding day. As a Southern Highlands wedding photographer what I love about the Barrel room is the great wooden barrel wall and grand metal gates. While it’s great to have beautiful outdoor locations you also need indoor wet weather locations which a lot of venues don’t offer. The sitting area outside the marquee looked a million bucks with high bar tables and chair for guests to have a another quiet area to move to during the crazy hours of the night when the wedding party’s raging.
During sunset and nightfall we used the open fields, lake and outdoor spaces to capture some iconic Southern Highlands Winery wedding photos. Now if you’re planning on getting married at this amazing venue l’d recommend if possible planning your day with photos in mind as to get the best photos, the best light is the hour before sunset so if possible this will really help give your photos that wow factor.
I hope you enjoyed my ramblings about this great venue and what it has to offer please contact myself for any photography related questions or Lee from SHW regarding any wedding questions.

Hi!
Love this blog post! Only just found it 🙂
If there’s any possibility of getting some pics from this shoot, and the Wollongong one that’d be great, please. 🙂
The drop box was from the second shoot I was unable to work on.
Thank you!
Emma
